Our Favorite Kitchen Design Inspiration Websites

Apr 27, 2020

At Designer Kitchens in Colorado Springs, we are incredibly open-minded when it comes to using the Internet for kitchen design inspiration and ideas. We certainly don’t think that we have all the answers or that our way is the only way. We know it makes no sense to reinvent the wheel.

Getting ideas and inspiration for your dream kitchen should be fun and exciting. In this post, we share some of our favorite online resources for kitchen design inspiration.

Best Apps & Websites for Kitchen Design Inspiration

Pinterest

If you’ve never heard of Pinterest, be prepared to discover your new favorite kitchen design inspiration app. Pinterest is a kitchen design inspiration gold mind. In order to use Pinterest, you must create an account. But don’t worry! It’s easy to create and simple to use.

As you can see on our kitchen design Pinterest account, you can create Pinterest “boards”. These are like folders where you can categorize different areas of your kitchen design that you want to focus on.

On our Pinterest page, you can see some of our “pins” from some “Before & After” kitchen remodeling projects.

When you see something you like, you simply click on the “pin” button and it will add it to your board. You can even add a note about what you liked about it. This is one of our favorite ways to organize and find new ideas and inspiration for kitchen designkitchen cabinets, new and exciting appliances, and trends in kitchen remodeling, layout, colors, materials, and hardware.

Houzz

Houzz is a really amazing website that offers some top-notch home design articles as well as thousands of photos of beautiful show homes from around the world.

We have a Houzz pro account that you can see here, but anyone including local homeowners can create accounts as well. You can create Ideabooks, leave & read reviews for Colorado Springs contractors, and ask questions in their forums. Houzz is an excellent resource for first time home kitchen remodelers and for anyone not certain which route they want to take with their new kitchen design or kitchen construction.

If you see a kitchen designer pro whose work you absolutely love then you can contact them through Houzz or follow the links to their website to contact them about getting work done. The Houzz website is a fun and content-rich place for gathering kitchen design inspiration.

HGTV

HGTV has great recommendations from picking the right countertops to choosing matching plates and how to care for all of it. You can explore hundreds of kitchen design styles and layout options.  You are sure to find plenty of colorful and professionally done images to add to your kitchen design inspiration wishlist. One of the best things is that HGTV articles all feature a handy Pinterest Pin button. This makes it very easy to save the kitchen design inspiration photos and pages you love and will want to revisit later.

Evernote

Evernote is a wonderful app that lets you write notes, save links, and create “notebooks” so you can keep your thoughts and ideas organized. Evernote works on your phone and desktop computer and is great for storing and organizing kitchen design inspiration content because it gives you a place to put all sorts of media, including photos, articles, and links to websites into one handy note.

You can view these notes on any device so you can pull up your favorite photos on your iPhone using the Evernote app while you’re out and about town.

See a great display at Lowe’s? Take a photo and add it to your Evernote for future reference. Has a friend recommended a great website for the best kitchen appliances? Add that link to your “Appliances” note so you can refer to it later.

You can share your notes with your family so that everyone can add their thoughts or input as well.

Summary

When you’re considering having your kitchen remodeled, researching the web for kitchen design inspiration and ideas of the kitchen styles and layouts you’ll love is a great first step to creating the kitchen of your dreams. Hopefully, websites and apps above will help get you started on the awesome and exciting trip of designing your dream kitchen.
